Welcome to Planning

Walt Disney World

Experience the magic where dreams come true! From iconic theme parks to world-class resorts, create unforgettable memories in the most magical place on earth.

Theme Parks to

Visit

Magic Kingdom

The heart of Walt Disney World. Cinderella Castle, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, classic parades, and the best fireworks show you will ever see. Fun fact: the park is actually built on the second story of the land, with underground tunnels called Utilidors where Cast Members move around without ever being seen by guests. Plan for at least two days here. My personal favorite dining spot is Be Our Guest, and I never skip Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

EPCOT

One of the most underrated parks on the property, and I will stand by that forever. The World Showcase takes you through eleven countries with incredible food, entertainment, and culture. Four seasonal festivals run throughout the year, including Food and Wine and Festival of the Arts. Give it at least a full day. My favorites are Soarin’ Around the World and dinner at Teppan Edo or Via Napoli.

Hollywood Studios

The most action-packed park at Walt Disney World. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Toy Story Land, incredible stage shows, and some of the best rides on property. Do not leave without riding Rise of the Resistance. Quick note I always share with first timers: Harry Potter is not here, that is Universal Studios across town, and yes, I book that too!

Animal Kingdom

Disney’s largest park is genuinely breathtaking. Africa, Asia, Pandora, and a massive expansion coming soon with Indiana Jones and Encanto-themed experiences. The Tree of Life is actually a repurposed oil rig with over 300 hand-carved animals. Half a day to a full day is my recommendation, with lunch at Yak and Yeti and a ride on Expedition Everest.

Typhoon Lagoon

Magic Kingdom

The original Walt Disney World theme park, capturing timeless, enchantment with its iconic Cinderella Castle, beloved classic attractions, parades, spectacular fireworks, and fairy-tale adventures.

Hotels to

Stay

Disney's Polynesian Village Resort

If I had to pick one resort that captures the feeling of being on vacation the moment you walk through the door, it would be the Polynesian. The tropical theming, the white sand beach on the Seven Seas Lagoon, and the monorail access to Magic Kingdom make this one of the most beloved resorts on property. Dole Whip by the pool and a perfect view of the fireworks from the beach at night. It does not get better than this.

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort

The Grand Floridian is Walt Disney World’s flagship luxury resort, and it earns that title every single time. Victorian elegance, a stunning lobby with live orchestra performances, multiple world-class dining options, and direct monorail access to Magic Kingdom. If you are celebrating something special, a honeymoon, an anniversary, or just want to treat your family to the very best, this is the one.

Disney's Contemporary Resort

The Contemporary is iconic for one reason most people know immediately: the monorail runs directly through the building. Beyond that, it is one of the most convenient resorts on the property with a short walk to Magic Kingdom, stunning Bay Lake views, and the incredible California Grill restaurant on the 15th floor with fireworks views that are absolutely unmatched.

Disney's Beach Club Resort

Beach Club is a quiet favorite among Disney regulars and, honestly, one of my top recommendations for families with kids. The main reason is Stormalong Bay, which is hands down the best pool complex on Disney property. It is a three-acre mini water park that you never have to leave the resort to enjoy. Beach Club also sits steps from EPCOT’s International Gateway entrance, making it perfect for Food and Wine Festival visits.

Disney's Yacht Club Resort

Beach Club’s sister resort shares access to Stormalong Bay and the same EPCOT walkway, but carries a slightly more nautical, upscale feel. Beautifully themed, elegantly appointed rooms, and the same incredible location. If your family loves EPCOT and wants a resort that feels refined without being over the top, Yacht Club is a wonderful choice.

Meet

Rachel

I live with my husband and daughter in Northeast Ohio. I am an Independent Contractor with the travel agency, Small World BIG FUN, a small woman-owned boutique agency. We are classified by Disney as a “Platinum Earmarked Agency”, which is one of the highest regarded agency statuses that can be earned with the Walt Disney Travel Company.

I take a lot of pride in being high touch, hands-on, and being incredibly up to date on the current offerings, processes, and available experiences for all the destinations I book. I have personally visited Disney Destinations—including Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and Disney Cruise Line—more than 150 times. Realistically, I’m in a Disney Destination every 4-6 weeks. Universal Studios has become a passion of mine as well over the last few years, as my family has gotten older. I truly know these destinations inside and out. I have been fortunate enough to stay in all the Disney Parks’ deluxe on-property resorts and have sailed every ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. I know how to translate my wealth of knowledge into a vacation perfectly designed for your family. Chances are, if you have a question about a VIP experience, hotel, restaurant, or attraction, I’ve done it.

When I’m not working or traveling, you’ll find me in my garage powerlifting or in my kitchen cooking and baking. I’m a busy mom who values “casual luxury”, loves a good dad joke, and could eat a steak for every meal. I can’t wait to meet you!!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the 2 pm rule at Disney World?

The 2 pm rule is a strategy that seasoned Disney visitors swear by. The idea is simple: arrive at the park right when it opens, hit your must-do rides in the morning when crowds are lightest, then head back to your resort around 2 pm for a rest, a swim, or a nap. You come back in the evening refreshed, and that’s when the parks are honestly at their most magical, with the fireworks, the lights, and way shorter wait times. It sounds simple, but it genuinely changes the whole trip.

If budget is a priority, August and September are your best bets. August and September are hot, but come with the lowest crowds and lowest hotel rates. Kids are back in school, and the summer rush is completely over. You’ll find lower resort prices, shorter wait times, and better availability for dining and experiences. Rachel can help you find the best value windows and any current promotions running during those months.

This is an important one to know before you go. Firearms are not permitted anywhere on Walt Disney World property, including the theme parks, resorts, and Disney Springs. However, Florida law does allow licensed gun owners to keep a legally owned firearm stored inside a locked vehicle in a parking lot. So while you cannot bring a weapon into any Disney venue, leaving it secured in your car in the parking area is permitted under state law. When in doubt, always check the most current Disney policy before your visit.

The 321 rule is a popular packing tip for Disney trips, especially ones with young kids. It stands for 3 pairs of shoes, 2 weeks’ worth of snacks, and 1 poncho per person. Some families tweak the numbers slightly, but the spirit is the same: pack light on clothes, heavy on snacks, and always have rain gear ready because Florida weather does its own thing. It’s one of those little hacks that makes the whole trip run smoother.

Honestly, there are so many, but one of the most underrated is the resort monorail loop. Even if you’re not staying at a monorail resort, you can hop on, ride the loop, and stop at the Grand Floridian, Polynesian, or Contemporary just to explore or grab a bite. It’s free, it’s fun, and most tourists completely miss it. Another big one is booking a free Disney planning session with a specialist like Rachel, who knows which dining reservations fill up first, which rides to prioritize, and exactly where to be for the best fireworks view.

A code 70 is Disney’s internal code used when a park has reached maximum capacity and has to temporarily stop letting new guests in. It’s rare, but it does happen on the busiest days of the year, like holidays and spring break weekends. If you’re not already inside the park when a code 70 is called, you’ll have to wait until capacity drops before you can enter. The best way to avoid this? Travel during off-peak times and get to the park early. Rachel can help you pick travel dates where code 70 is the last thing you’ll need to worry about.
