Resort Overview

Staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel means being surrounded by the magic of every moment of your vacation. More than just a place to sleep, Disney resorts offer immersive experiences, convenient locations, and that extra touch of pixie dust you cannot find anywhere else.

There are three on property resorts – Grand Californian Resort + Spa, Disneyland Hotel, and Pixar Place Hotel.

Why choose Disneyland

If I wasn’t an 8-hour travel day and 3 time zones away, I would be at Disneyland all the time. There’s something incredibly special about walking down Main Street, U.S.A. and experiencing the park that started it all. You can feel Walt Disney’s influence in every land and every detail, and I especially love Disneyland for families with younger children, Disney history enthusiasts, and anyone looking for that classic Disney magic. It’s incredibly walkable, the lands flow seamlessly together, and it rewards you for slowing down and taking it all in.

And yes, I’ll happily defend this opinion: I think almost every attraction that exists at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World is better at Disneyland. Pirates of the Caribbean is longer and more immersive, Haunted Mansion has details I wish existed in Florida, and “it’s a small world” is beautiful inside and out. One of my favorite Disney memories happened watching Fantasmic! with my husband when Captain Jack Sparrow suddenly emerged on a pirate ship and fired a cannon—we both jumped! That’s Disneyland in a nutshell. Even after countless visits, it still finds ways to surprise me. It may not be the biggest Disney park in the world, but in my opinion, it has the biggest heart.

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on your travel style. Unlike Walt Disney World, most Disneyland vacations are just 3-4 nights, so your budget can vary quite a bit depending on where you stay, when you travel, and whether you’re looking for a value getaway or a luxury experience.

As a general guideline:

  • Budget: $2,000–$3,000 for a family of four
  • Mid-range: $3,500–$5,000 for a family of four
  • Luxury: $6,000–$10,000+ for a family of four

These estimates typically include hotel accommodations, park tickets, dining, and airport transportation, but not airfare, since flight costs vary significantly depending on where you’re traveling from.

During our Discovery Call, we’re going to talk about my services and what is included when you hire me to plan your vacation. My planning fee does vary depending on the number of guests, vacation destination, and how close we are to travel.

For the right traveler? Absolutely. As someone who specializes in luxury Disney vacations, I think of Premier Pass as a time purchase, not a ride purchase.

The slowest months are January, February, April, August, September, and November. Summer is actually the least crowded of the school breaks, making it a good pick for families with kids ages 3 to 9.

I ALWAYS recommend Park Hopper tickets to my Disneyland travelers. It is 120 “Rachel steps” from the front entrance of Disneyland Park to the front entrance of Disney California Adventure Park. Set yourself up for success with flexibility!
